A green corridor was created in the city for the first time on Wednesday morning to transport a liver retrieved by doctors at Choitram Hospital for a patient at Medanta Hospital, New Delhi.

INDORE: A green corridor was created in the city for the first time on Wednesday morning to transport a liver retrieved by doctors at Choitram Hospital for a patient at Medanta Hospital, New Delhi.
The entire operation for non-stop transportation of the organ from the Choitram Hospital to Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport, Indore was coordinated by district commissioner, Sanjay Dubey along with city police and traffic police.

"With the help of 60 city cops, the ambulance carrying the retrieved organ travelled more than 10 km in record 20 minutes," Dubey said adding that normally the route would have taken more than 40 minutes.
The route decided for green corridor was Choitram Hospital via Manikbgah, Palsikar crossing, Hemu colony, Mhow Naka, Gangwal, Bada Ganpti to Indore airport.
“The liver was retrieved from a city resident Rameshwar, who met with an accident. To make the organ reach on time we requested the administration to create a green corridor in the city. It the first ever corridor of the state for an organ transplant case,” said Dr Pradeep Salgiya, Choitram Hospital surgeon.
